They enjoyed teasing me and knew it was driving me crazy to know what they were doing.  Impish women, chattering in my ear and giggling while dangling little hints to me, but I did not peak! And I am so glad that I didn’t, for when they finally finished, they teleported me to the secret area and I was speechless.  There before my eyes, they had created Egypt!  Now, a little back story so that you understand why this is so important to me.

As an avid roleplayer, I have many personas, but Chance is the ‘me’ in all of those creations.  Though I have not roleplayed in a very long time, I do have a roleplay back-story, the most prominent is that in character I am an Archaeologist.  An Egyptologist to be exact. I had talked to Gabriella and my best friend Lupa about doing a big roleplay with them, taking us to Egypt on an excavation.  We figured we could go to a few sims that had a desert theme, but finding an actual archaeological dig site was a whole other story.  That is when Gabriella secretly asked my best friend to help her create one.

For the past few weeks since they completed the areas on our sim, we have been embarking on a grand expedition from Cairo city to the East, in search of ancient tombs and a secret city buried beneath the sands of time.  Over the next few blog posts, with the exception of a few styles or events, I will be featuring images from our roleplay to share with you.  I hope you enjoy them as much as we have finding the many wonderful creations in SecondLife to bring our roleplay to even more life.

i put a girly girly look together today, using a vday palette in mind, with a couple things from the new round o’ stumblebum. luckily for me, the color choices for this collection of stumblebum goodies were reds, pinks && white… which made making a casual-yet-cute valentine ensemble raaaaaaather easy!

plus, i honestly *love* the way red && hot pink look together.. and it seems as though the first fourteen days of february are the only appropriate times to wear them together. so it was a nice excuse!

the stripey skirt, from boom, and the *gorgeous* pink eyes, from insufferable dastard are just two of the offerings in this round of stumble. the skirt so reminds me of spring — crisp white cotton, striped with two vibrant colors …. ugh, i really hope good ole punxsutawney phil predicts an early spring for us tomorrow. i could seriously go for some more spring time weather, the last few days in my rl i’ve been enjoying temperatures above 40 for a change. it’s been so nice~

but, that was a completely irrelevant tangent. xD

back to the skirt! it’s flirty && cute, but totally works for vday if you’re needin’ an outfit. and since it’s out for stumble, it is the perfect time to shop early and have your outfit ready if you have plans. …which i am envious of, i need somethin’ fun to do on valentine’s day. ;/

i paired the skirt with one of my favorite tanks from candydoll, some *new* rose-decorated heels from purrfect 10 (which allow you to change the colors of the roses to suit your own vday attire~), and a pretty updo from magari. simple, even by my own standards, but cute nonetheless! and maaaaaaybe i was feeding my own desire for an early spring with the bare arms && skirt combo. but at least in sl, i won’t freeze myself to the bone if i run around in hoping for spring, but still wanting a valentine kinda clothes. now all i need is a chivalrous date to offer me his jacket…. *schemes*

I sort of have two outfits to show off today, one with the with the kimono and the other with the just underwrappings, the better  to see my sweet jewelry!

There are a few new releases at De La Soul and one of them is the Glaive Collection. I love it, ornate tiny details and a HUD with a ton of texture options. It has everything… headdress, anklets and armbands, bangles, a collar, ears, a basic tail (I tinted mine to match my skin tone a bit) and tail jewelry, mouth and nipple piercings. The jewelry is sold piece by piece for 100L-350L each or you can get the entire fatpack for 1500L.

There is a HUD included which will work with any of the pieces worn, so when I put everything on I only had to use one HUD to coordinate the changes. The variety of options is a lot of fun. There are 20 metal textures, 20 pearl textures and 24 textures for the spirals. The spiral texture is also used on the main band of the bangles and anklets. Most of the those are different colors of shiny metal but there are others too. A bumpy teal, some that look a bit like stone or tiles, a zebra stripe.

The ears HUD comes with a skin texture picker with 18 tones including greyscale and each tone has the option for plain or black tips. Everything is mod so it was easy to fit to my avatar, and though there are many tiny prims I had no trouble scaling down.

Another new release I’ve got on is the ponytail from Inaya, Shaddai . For 250L you get two versions, the normal behind the back style I’ve got on and also one that goes over the shoulder. There are also two hairbases incuded, one with a part down the middle.

The Jasmine skin from Curio is half off at their Truth District location. All their skins there are half off making the megapack of 12 makeups and 10 tones just 1500L. Such a good deal, especially for someone like me who changes skin tone all the time. They could have it like most places do and seperate their fatpack by tone. Usually I just try to pick a single tone, so I see it as a sort of gift.

My outfit from Bare Rose includes a purple or white kimono, yellow or grey body bandages, collar, hairsticks and shoes all for just 160L. I already had the red and black set and was really happy when I saw they were selling white and purple for ladies too. The boys got their white and purple before we did and I wasn’t sure if we’d even get that version. The wrappings leave one breast uncovered, so for the photos without the kimono I wore an undershirt, part of one of the strip dresses from The Plastik.

To give myself a bit of a geine look I wore two sets of horns from (Read more...) modded a bit to frame my headdress. This color is from the Nymph texture pack which is now exclusive to the inworld group gifts. The deep and lovely colorgow eyes from Ibanez aren’t on sale anymore but there are still several sets in the shop which are half off and 50L each.

Hi darlings!  So, I was looking on the feeds and I am seeing the London Dress from Bad Romance literally EVERYWHERE.  So glad to see Maelynda’s store doing so well!  Even though that adorable dress just dropped, I’m going to blog something else from her today, because I finally started cleaning out my inventory a bit and found it and realized I’d never unpacked it!  She released not too long ago an adorable mesh dress and I decided to pair it with Truth’s newest release & the latest and amazing tattoo from Vestigium.  In addition, Pepper has released a skin!  YES, A SKIN.  I am going to give my honest review of it in the blog today.  But first, pictures, yes?

So, before I post the details let’s get into it with this skin.  Firstly, she released it in three tones, Cocoa, Tan, and Pale.  She also released makeup options, lipsticks, lip glosses, & eyeshadows.  The skin itself comes in a freckled or non-freckled version, and already has built-in-cleavage (which, let the record show, I’m not the biggest fan of only because I don’t always want cleavage).  For her first ever skin, I am super impressed.  Paula is a really nice looking skin and didn’t require many modifications to my shape to look nice!  I am by no means or in no way saying that her skin is sub-par.  It reminds me a bit of Filthy when Filthy dropped their first skin.  Little things here and there had room for improvement and now Filthy is releasing some AMAZING skins.  I have the same hopes for Pepper.  Paula is truly a nice skin, and makes me look forward to what Danni Pfeffer will do next!  Now, on with the details!

So, what’s the basis of all this? Is it a subtle hint into the near future? Maybe… because, as it is this year will be an eventful one. I am graduating in the summer and making plans for grad school or pursuing a second degree. I’ll be leaning towards the latter but, I am certain my performance by the end of this semester will be the defining factor all around.

Oh, and not to mention, I’ll be moving in less than a month. Now, not to put my entire reallife out there because, I’ve always strived to maintain a certain amount of anonymity but, I think it is important everyone who cares understands the reasons behind my prolonged absences hence! the explanation…out of respect mostly… Because, I just think it’s rude to disappear without a word and not to the mention, the speculations that might arise as some people have no problem blatantly impersonating others ( e.g the never ending copybot crisis and the things in between) ~ of course, that’s another story for another blog post.

Miss Iron — I’m so tempted to make Iron Maiden puns — has my favourite scifi skin by Oralune and an outrageous Courtisane hairdo by Violator. The cyborg eyes are by Repulse and there’s three make-up layers by Nuuna’s Skins in addition, all from the pack 9.

I took the pictures in Mythical and went crazy with shadows and viewer settings. I changed into Niran’s Viewer lately and I can actually see the changes when I play with SSAO-settings now. All I did to these pictures was crop and shrink a little. No filters, no fixing, this is how it was in-world.

There is one problem with enhanced graphics, though. The bug that causes square lines to appear in bigger-than-screen-resolution pictures seem to be similarly enhanced. Earlier I was often able to just paint-blur them off, they were just lines. Now… not so much. I might have to start shooting pictures in screen resolution. Sadness.

See the lines? Those I might possibly be able to paint-blur away still with hours of work, but… yeahno. And anything as awesome as this is absolutely not fixable. This makes me a sad bunny since I loved shooting in gigantic resolutions, then moving the picture around on the end result size to partially decide on the composition there and then. Guess it’s smaller resolution from now on.

All the nifty combat poses are by Niqotine Poses, perfectly fitting the Iron Maiden. I love unconventional poses, they make pictures so much more fun and dynamic and the characters so much more alive. Even iron-willed half-mechanical humanoid females.

Another of the new skins from Nomine, the cat eyes are included in a few different colors. I added a tail from Lemon Tea. It’s animated and pretty neat.

The hair is a dollarbie at Pocket Mirrors and it was blonde till I got ahold of it. The outfit from Bare Rose also got some blue trim from my tinting. The pack includes an orange version and a black and white striped undershirt, gloves and leggings all for just 150L.

I got a new friend, a little Meeroo buddy. She’ll keep me company and help me get through those nights when the texture refuses to rez or when my viewer decides to take up crashing as a hobby.
