I logged in last night after a long day at the office - why is it that the day before a holiday weekend always seems to drag on forever? Lo and behold, my mood instantly brightened when I found MichaMi’s latest release, the Anouk Jumpsuit, waiting for me. It is so cute and comfy-looking that I instantly IM’d Milla to ask her to make it for my RL avi…she claims not to sew, but I’m not buying it. I have a hard time believing there is anything this girl can’t do.

One thing I love about this jumpsuit is that it is so versatile. This is something I find to be true for most of MichaMi’s designs. The soft textures and loose fit would lend itself easily to a relaxed, girls-night-in or a day of running errands. In fact, when I first tried it on, my initial reaction was to slip into ETD’s Demi-Trainers (my jogging shoe of choice) and a huge handbag. But Thursday nights are for dancing, so I decided to jazz it up for a night out!
With only a few minutes to spare before the weekly Thursday Night Dance Party at Rouge, I scrambled about looking for accessories and eventually decided to wear every butterfly in my inventory (I think I might have mentioned my obsession with the winged beauties a time or two). The Butterfly Effect eye decoration from Glow Studios is a recent addition to my stash and I love the ethereal quality of it. My sandals are also a recent acquisition, this time from Courtisane, I’m thinking of picking up a few more pairs as I really love the shape of the heel and the trailing ribbon tie.

Today is Bandanna Day in Second Life, the day we shed our vanity and out wigs to show support for those we hope to help through our donation to the Locks of Love Charity, the annual fundraiser associated with Hair Fair. Bandannas are for sale throughout the Hair Fair with 100% going to the charity. There are a nice variety of bandanas from hair designers, other designers, bloggers, and every day residents of Second Life, and they are only $50LaLas a piece, so grab a few! They are transferable, so grab some for your friends while you are there. They make a great club event, and it’s a great way to promote the cause.

This is the first of the two bandannas that I picked up this year, designed by the ever talented *MIASNOW*. I simply had to grab this one in the green version, since it is my favorite colour, and also symbolizes hope to me. I don’t know about you, but I would be thrilled so sheer of my RL hair if it meant finding a cure for Cancer, it’s treatment, and Alopecia, two of the leading causes of baldness in children.

I went with an all green palate. Starting with this fabulous Chenille Sweater from PIG, and pairing it with a pair of Green Leather Pants from ::Pink Cadillac::. Shoes are the amazing Slinky Stilettos from Maitreya in Pine Green. The bag is another great one from [LeLutka], the GLEN bag in a sweet Olive Drab print. I am wearing a great freebie necklace from PixelDolls, it may still be available in the shop, but I am not certain. The bangle is from =DeLa*=, I adore these Bellini Bangles, here in the Deepforest Green.

Another adorable bandanna I picked up to celebrate Bandanna Day in SL, is this adorable one from Dead Kitties. This one is really special, with cute kitty ears and piercings. I love the purple stars pattern, but as it is mod, I think you can tint the stars any colour you wish in edit mode. Remember, these sweet do-rags are only $50LaLas a piece, and transferable, with 100% of the cost going directly to the Locks of Love charity. I went with a grungier look this time, starting with a great Skull Thermal from *PUNCH DRUNK*, over a pair of crinkled black slack from Sweetest Good-bye. The amazing scripted Low Top Chucks are from AKEYO. Necklace is Canimal’s Picture Pendant, Black Jelly Bracelets are by [Overdose]/Punk by Proxy. One of my favorite kitschy purses of all time is this adorable Record Purse, I have had it well over 2 years, but was unable to locate the shop name or location.

The skin I am wearing in both of today’s posts in the Emma from *REDGRAVE* in Tan, this is the *icegrey* make-up. Eyes are from Miriel, now unfortunately no longer available since Miriel Enfield closed her shop this past month. Love Lashes are from [Detour].

Now I’m really going to be torn! I have been wearing the last LAQ release for the last few days. With the new one, April, in the Milky tone, it will be a hard choice between the two.

April has the softest freckles not only on the face but also the upper chest and body. At first glance I didn’t see the freckles. I’m a makeup fan, so my first look is at all the pretty makeups then I scan the body. Sometime between the second and third makeup did I realize the soft little freckles.  Mallory had first created April for all the redheads.  Since she added the brown brows to the mix, us, the platinum girls can also wear the skins. I did see it with the other hair colors, and to be honest, its a fair hair skin line. Some of the darkest tone hair looked amazing for the dramatic look. Its true personal taste.

Regardless of your hair preference, at least check out the skins. Its really stunning! Sure to be a head turner for those second or even third looks!!

Oops, it’s bandanna day! I admit that I completely forgot until after I’d photographed myself in this outfit, and then I scrambled for something appropriate. *cough* Moving-house-brain aside, I am happy to honor this day because I’ve watched several close family members endure chemotherapy (my stepmother, my mother-in-law), and I’ve seen their grace as they’ve dealt with the results.

My mother-in-law took to wearing amazing hats — large and red and lovely. When her hair grew back after treatment she kept the hats as dress-up items for my daughter, turning something sad into something joyful.

The hair I’m sporting is new from Gritty Kitty, called Cain. I adore the v-bangs and the choppy back, and if my hair were remotely straight or bidable I’d have this haircut IRL. The dress is a pretty creation from Vanitas Vesture — I really like the sleek yet light line and the carefully drawn fabric, a perfect summer dress.

Entries will be accepted until July 30th so all interested models should quickly apply. We are calling every beautiful model and every classy woman who adores Bliss Couture clothing. Many women would love to be the “Face” of Bliss Couture and wear the title of Miss Bliss Couture 2010, are you one of them? Only ONE will be chosen as Miss Bliss Couture 2010 and that lucky lady will appear in most vendor ads for new clothing and will exclusively be the model in all print advertising for magazines and other media. Miss Bliss Couture will be given priority for all modeling jobs available, only being replaced in the event of her being unavailable. Miss Bliss Couture will be awarded a specially designed diamond jewelry set from Alyssa Bijoux. She will also be given all future Bliss Couture releases throughout her one year reign, $10,000L Cash Prize, and of course the title of Miss Bliss 2010. The winner will also receive an invitation to the prestigious Boulevard Agency and an interview for BOSL Magazine. With prizes like these who would not want to be part of a contest of this magnitude?

Miss Bliss Couture 2010 is a multi level competition based on photos, live modeling and objective judging. There will be no voting from friends the competitors will only be judged by the distinguished panel of judges chosen for the event.

The rules to the contest are as followed:

Step 1 - Join “THE BEST OF SL Magazine Readers” Group. All notices and results will be announced in this group only. All contestants also, have to join the Bliss Couture In-world Group to be part of this contest.

Step 2 - Models will submit photos of themselves wearing a dress or outfit from Bliss Couture. One full body and one headshot 512 X 512 (FULL PERM) each. Full body photos will be judged on styling, while headshots will judged based on the visual appeal of the model. Please send your entry in a folder (not a notecard) to Caymon Zhora. Label your entry MISS BLISS COUTURE 2010 (YOUR NAME).

Step 3 - 100 girls will be selected from these entries for a live audition callback. Models should again wear a Bliss Couture dress or outfit and style themselves in a way they believe represents the image of Bliss Couture. The live audition will include a runway walk and will take place over 2 live audition times so all girls will have a chance to be seen.

Step 4 - The pool will be narrowed down to 20 models from the live audition. Since the winner of the competition will be working closely with designer Amutey DeCuir, it is important that the girl herself show signs of reliability and be personable. An interview will be scheduled for each girl to gauge for compatibility between model and designer.

Step 5 - The pool of 20 will be narrowed down to 10. The 10 finalists will all have a photoshoot wearing the same dress provided to them by Bliss Couture. These photos by a professional photographer will be judged by a panel and will determine the top 5.

Step 6 - The top 5 will all be invited to be Bliss Couture Models on staff for live modeling, runway modeling, special events, and select vendor ads. The 5 finalists will walk in a runway show, wearing all new releases from Bliss Couture. A panel of judges will be present to determine the winner.

Hi everybody!

I suppose you “may” have been wondering “what the h*ll has happened to Mai?!”

Well, the short & nasty is that I have undergone some beau coup hardware snafu’s. Lost 1200 Gigs (yes GIGS!!!!) of work and to add insult to injury my LCD monitor power supply died. I am still trying to reinstall & recover files. I’m working on an OLD OLD OLD 14 inch work bench monitor that is on it’s last legs.

The good news is.. hahaha.. I have a new 22 inch monitor flying in via UPS and it is slated to be here Monday! YAY!!!!!!!!

AT any rate, with the lost of screen real estate I have stepped back from doing “texture” work in Photoshop and working in SL is hell. I open a menu and half my screen is taken up, dragging them almost off screen and then back again to change an option, etc., etc., ad nauseum. NO FUN and you all know I design cuz it’s FUN!

SO, out put from me has sorrowfully been on the downside. BUT YA CAN’T KEEP A GGOD IDEA surpressed and I HAVE to create.

This coming week, starting on THURSDAY, JULY 9TH, 2009 we are having our “overdue” ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY for Prim & Pixel Paradise!!!!

The festivities will be kicked off by a LIVE concert by my favorite SL singer, NILES COMPTON. Yessirree! He will be performing LIVE in our brand new 1/4 sim park area. Stage is up and I am chomping at the bit here to host him in a concert.

Which brings me to … this necklace & earrings set, which is a gift for the attendees of the concert!

BTW.. the hearts are scripted for automatic color cycling and can be turned off and on.
